Graph Lines — connect the dots

Example: Graph $y=\frac{1}{2}x-3$

This equation is already in slope-intercept form: $y=mx+b$ .

What luck!

$m=\frac{1}{2}$ (slope)
$b=-3}$ (y-intercept)

Graph the y-intercept

Slope is $\frac{rise}{run}=\frac{1}{2}$
So go up 1 and right 2.
